Garden refined, Titik-style

Titik, one of our friends, has a great hobby: flower arranging.

She's not an amateur because her techniques are limited.

But she does these for fun.
Every arrangement is unique. See what I mean?
She mixes flowers from her garden with purchases.
"It doesn't have to cost a lot," she says.
"Sometimes I can make 3 bouquets for $17." What?!
Each week, I look forward to seeing what Titik has created.
There's variety and movement in her bouquets.
My heart fills color and beauty whenever a new arrangement shows up.

A week’s worth of garden - Week 3 of February 2024

Every Saturday, I go unto my Indonesian garden to see what’s blooming. I cut, soak, and arrange. The flowers go first to the hall and then come home for personal enjoyment.

This week during rainy season, the garden is flourishing.

I pluck a dozen gardenias and leave more on the bush.

Self-seeding, the 8' (2.6 meter)-tall yellow flowers look like monstrous marigolds.
There's a variety of color around one of the planter-ponds.
Vines trail from the upper storey behind this "spaceship" shrub. When it blooms, there are clumps of black and gold flowers.
Along the porch, a burst of color sits in front of the yellow-green "mosquito-repelling" shrub that smells of bitter citrus when touched.
The ferns are happy. This 5' (1.6 meter)-wide bird's nest fern on the 12' (4 meter)-high green wall separating us from the neighbor.

From bland to grand

There are hollyhocks. The hedges are changing color. On the ground, the maples are glowing. And this exuberant hydrangea makes me smile. Rea...
