Pink fountain

In the garden, a new pop of color catches my eye.

I take a closer look at the hedge. A pink fountain hangs between the leaves.

Bursting with flavor

Between interesting leaves and pops of color, this one is a winner.

With minimal flowers and leaves from her garden, #titikbadudu creates a stunning arrangement.

Colorful contrast

This week's arrangement is colorful and contrasting - tall, ruffles, balls, spires ...

It makes a beautiful statement during a visit from the landlady. "Let's take our photo here," she says, pulling us onto the sofa so the flowers are in the foreground.

The "flower lady"

Our friend Titik volunteered to do flowers for the IES Bandung hall. I didn't know what that would mean, except that she'd have to make something big each week for the stage. Would she be up to it?

This is what she made for the stage,  plus 12 table arrangements (right side) for Round Table Sunday in February.

I'd say she's doing just fine! The exuberant colors are a sport of cheer during rainy season.

Parts 1 and 2: Carnations

When you have a long-lived bouquet, it's a shame to toss the arrangement as flowers fade.

#titikbadudu has done a beautiful job on the original. It stays fresh and intact most of the week.

As the greens and whites wilt, I toss them. What if we add pinks and ferns from the garden to the carnations that remain?

It lasts another week.

February 4th week 2024: before and after

The 12' green wall needs a trim. Long fern fronds hang where the plants have self-seeded.

Much better - the trimming will be used in flower arrangements this weekend.

Garden refined, Titik-style

Titik, one of our friends, has a great hobby: flower arranging.

She's not an amateur because her techniques are limited.

But she does these for fun.
Every arrangement is unique. See what I mean?
She mixes flowers from her garden with purchases.
"It doesn't have to cost a lot," she says.
"Sometimes I can make 3 bouquets for $17." What?!
Each week, I look forward to seeing what Titik has created.
There's variety and movement in her bouquets.
My heart fills color and beauty whenever a new arrangement shows up.

From bland to grand

There are hollyhocks. The hedges are changing color. On the ground, the maples are glowing. And this exuberant hydrangea makes me smile. Rea...
